Vain Imaginations

So many of us have them. Yet, we do nothing about it. Many times, the physical actions manifested are products of what has been rehearsed in our minds over and over. Why do you think the plan works to the magnitude it does. You see a girl that is beautiful or stunning. You lust and want her. You keep doing this over and over in your mind. Finally, some how the opportunity presents itself. Both of you no better. Anyway, I heard one time that the mind does not distinguish between reality and what is not. I guess that is why some people tell you to think it and you'll become it. Still, as Christians we must be careful what we are thinking. We must guard our gates. It is these gates that feed the mind i believe. It is these gates that will lead to what Proverbs 5 verse 22-23 said. So we must be careful.

Proverbs 4

There are so many distractions in life. Ultimately, when you are going to your destination there is a distraction on the side to throw you off. It is these distractions that can make one lose focus. Focus is important because it is this focus that helps you to arrive to your destination on time and not ten or twenty minutes late. Well, we can parallel this with what the Bible has said in Proverbs 4:27. There are many things God has each of us to do in life. Still, we can all be distracted easily. Your distraction may not be the same as my distraction. Your distraction may not move you like my distraction will. However, the enemy has cued into your life and your families history. He knows what your family makeup is famous for. He knows of the distractions that can ultimately lead you to fall into traps. So it is this day I pray:

Father keep us all focused on our destination. Lord you know the traps and the distractions that await me. Father help me to pass through those moments that I may end up where you want me to be.

Proverbs 2

What would you do? The wisdom of the Lord. In this chapter it tells the reader to search for her as hidden treasure. I've imagined many things I've searched and looked for. Money in the cushions of the couch. Bills in a drawer that doesn't have much space. I remember the feeling that i had when i was looking. It was a feeling of "I got to find this". When i think about this chapter it looks like we are to recreate that feeling. We must get wisdom and we must get understanding for all of life's issues. So much comes at us daily. How are we to respond to the pressures and stress of life. In another part of the chapter, there is a verse that commands us to "Follow the example of Good People". It is so easy to follow the foolish or evil when things are out of whack in your life. For example, your wife doesn't have sex with you. Well, you decide since she won't do her wifely duties you will go seek comfort elsewhere. It may be another woman. Or it may be pornography and masturbation because that wouldn't be too bad. In your mind you feel justified all because your wife's not doing what she's supposed to do. However, that is not the wisdom of God. That is not how God wants you to handle the situation. I don't know the answer but He has the wisdom along with understanding to go with it to help us. That's why we must seek Him.

Proverbs 1

This is my initial blog. I'm new to this whole thing but feel it is a way for me to grow as a Christian. It is a way for me to talk about the scripture i just read. So here it go's.

Proverbs 1 offered insight on a couple of things for me. First, in verse twenty-seven of chapter 1 it talks about the calamity of the fool. It talks about the panic, terror, or fear that come when people don't use wisdom. I've never seen a description such as this. In verse 28, it say's "they will seek me early and diligently, but they will not find me." I've thought about a couple of times myself when I've done foolish things. Sometimes we'll buy a car that we don't need, or it may be a particular item. Sometimes we will make choices that are contrary to sound wisdom. Only to have these decisions not pan out. It's crazy but it makes me want to listen more than i have before. My prayer today is God, help me to follow you and your voice alone. Even in the smallest minute items of life. Failure to do so can be tragic.
